1/48 Belgian resin Marchetti

I always have loved that airplane and I have a soft spot for the yellow paint the belgian airforce use for basic training. So when a friend asked me to build the aircraft he soloed in, i decided to build the military version at the same time.

Both models are resin but from different origin.
The military is the old Skymodel and the civilian is from planet model in cooperation with CRP modelling. The planet model (CRPO) version is crispier and more modern. It's by far the best of the two version.

As often with resin models, it isn't for beginners.

The sky model came with two left wings so I had to convert one of the two left wing to a right wing, the vac canopy is far from transparent and just doesn't fit the fuselage, the parts were bent, wing angle was flat, most of the parts are undersized - especially the wingtip tanks etc etc...

The planet model on the other hand was a joy to build with perfect fit and accurate shapes and wonderful decals. the canopy is clear and fits perfectly. the only problem I could find on that one was the wing angle too flat as well, but that was easily corrected with a bit of boiling water :)

When placed alongside each other the differences in shape and size are striking !!!
They will need to be stored away from each other!

Both were completed in September 2010.
